Major General Alfred Valenzuela
MG Valenzuela is the author of "No Great Love" a soldiers journey. He was the highest ranking hispanic officer on active duty at the time of his retirement and has served on the Board of Directors for the Eagle Scout Association, Tomas Rivera Policy Institute, been selected to the Hall of Fame for the Boys Club, and is on the Board of trustees of St. Mary's University. In 2001 he was named one of the "100 Most Influential Hispanics" by Hispanic Business magazine and selected to the Board of Directors, Texas Chapter, Boy Scouts of America.
Gaylord Perry (Baseball committee co-chair)
Former Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher. He pitched from 1962-1983 for eight different teams in his career. During a 22-year baseball career, Perry compiled 314 wins, 3,534 strikeouts, and a 3.11 earned run average. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
